The maximum rebate a homeowner in Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, or Coquitlam could receive depends on whether they choose the FortisBC Dual-Fuel System Rebate or the CleanBC Standard Heat Pump Rebate.
Additionally, homeowners switching to an electric-only system may qualify for municipal top-ups from Coquitlam, as well as extra incentives for water heating upgrades, electrical service improvements, and income-qualified households.
Who Qualifies for the Maximum Rebate?
Homeowners switching from an oil, gas, or propane heating system to an energy-efficient heat pump
Choosing either a Dual-Fuel (Heat Pump + Gas Furnace) or Fully Electric Heat Pump (Note: Coquitlam top-up rebates apply ONLY to fully electric heat pumps, NOT dual-fuel systems)
Upgrading their electrical service if required (Required for some electric heat pump systems to qualify for top-ups)
Replacing a fossil-fuel water heater with a heat pump water heater (Only electric water heaters qualify for Coquitlam rebates)
Meeting the income-qualified household requirements (e.g., a family of four earning $185,620 or less pre-tax may qualify for an additional $6,000 in rebates)
Important Note: If you choose a dual-fuel heat pump system (gas furnace + heat pump), you will NOT be eligible for the Coquitlam municipal rebates.

This means a homeowner who meets all eligibility requirements could get up to $10,850 for standard rebates or $16,850 if income-qualified for switching to a fully electric system. Homeowners choosing a dual-fuel system could qualify for up to $10,000, but will NOT receive Coquitlam municipal top-ups.

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance. It's recommended to have your heating system serviced annually to identify and address potential issues, ensuring efficient operation and preventing costly repairs.
Signs of a plumbing leak include water stains, dampness, or unexplained increases in water bills. If you suspect a leak, turn off the main water supply, and contact us immediately to assess and repair the issue.
To enhance energy efficiency, consider upgrading to a programmable thermostat, seal any drafts in windows and doors, and ensure proper insulation. Additionally, schedule regular HVAC maintenance to keep your heating system running efficiently and identify opportunities for improvements. If your equipment is over 15 years old replacement may be the best option.
